Robert Rinder ended up in hospital after presenting Good Morning Britain on Monday.

The former telly judge, 44, shared a snap form his ward just hours after fronting the show with Ranvir Singh.

After leaving the studio, the criminal barrister suffered a nasty injury as Robert took to Instagram to tell fans what had happened.

Sitting in his hospital bed, wearing a surgical gown, he said: "Started the day holding politicians to account on ⁦GMB⁩ and interviewing Lulu & Richie Sambora.

"Finished it having a prolapsed disc in my back repaired and healed.

A prolapsed disc, also known as a slipped disc, can cause severe pain as the soft tissue between the bones gets pushed out of place, pressing on the nerves.

After revealing his injury, fans rushed to send Robert their well wishes, with one saying: "OMG a prolapsed disc is so painful, I'm very glad you've got it repaired and are on the mend."

While another said: "Wish you a speedy recovery."

The star's news come after Robert showed off his ripped body after returning from a health retreat holiday with good pal Carol Vorderman in January.

The pair indulged in some intensive 'self care' as they spent 10 days in Portugal on a gruelling 'juice cleanse'.

As well as his juice diet, Robert revealed he'd also been working up a daily sweat in the gym and ran 70km over the course break.

Taking to Instagram showing off the amazing results of his work and determination, he said: "A week of juicing & 70km.. Now to making it last..!" he captioned the post. "The body achieves what the mind believes."

Friends and fans were impressed with the barrister's sterling efforts and took to the comment section to compliment him.

John Barrowman gushed: "Well done" while a fan added: "Well done!! You look amazing !!"

After sharing the same snap on Twitter, Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard wrote: "Looking ripped Rob."

Rob and Countdown queen Carol have been to the Portuguese retreat many times, with the two previously sharing snaps in the summer of 2022.

However, back in 2020, the barrister revealed he was 'two-stone' overweight according to the NHS and vowed to shed the weight.
