LIV Golf star Phil Mickelson is never usually one for backing down on social media, but the six-time major champion has been quick to delete his latest PGA Tour dig on Twitter.

Mickelson has made his feelings quite clear about the American-based circuit since making the decision to join LIV Golf last summer, and these opinions are often posted across Twitter. His latest slamming came the way of both the PGA of America and the PGA Tour.

With the second major of the year in the PGA Championship right around the corner, Mickelson is gearing up to return to the American-based circuit for the second time in six weeks following last month's Masters.

Despite securing his own spot in the field after winning the event in 2021, the American star is less than impressed with the lack of qualification places for his fellow LIV stars. Mickelson accused tournament organisers the PGA of America of 'colluding' with the PGA Tour to cut out LIV rebels despite them having higher world ranking spots than some succesful entrants.

He tweeted: "PGA uses OWGR [Official World Golf Rankings] to get in. #103 Tringale #111 Munoz #110 Kokrak OUT. #128 Hossler IN. Colluding with [the] Tour against LIV. 3 years from now who is most likely to still be here?

"[PGA Tour commissioner, Jay] Monahan or LIV? We won't forget. You too [USGA CEO, Mike] Whan." Despite his daring call out, Mickelson quickly took the tweet down, no doubt due to noticing a glaring mistake in his post.

This comes after PGA Championship organisers use their own points system to determine qualifiers, rather than world rankings like Mickelson suggested. The now deleted tweet comes just a week after the six-time major champion took aim at the organisers of the US Open for their qualification process.

In an x-rated Twitter rant towards USGA chief Whan, he wrote: "Hey Mike, what about changing a rule and making it retroactive to exclude someone who has already qualified?. "How can Talor Gooch not take that personal? It’s a direct attack on him and his career. How does it benefit the USGA or US open? It doesn’t. Just a d**k move."
