Paloma Faith divides fans as she defends Coronation Concert amid poverty crisis
Paloma Faith has divided fans after defending the 'garishly modern' Coronation Concert after performing at the lavish event over the weekend.
The star angered many fans for sharing her support for the Coronation – which cost the public around £250 million – amid the cost of living crisis.
A huge chunk – around £150million – was needed to deploy thousands of police officers and protection squads while the rest went to the ceremony and three days of celebrations.
After performing at Windsor Castle alongside other singers, Paloma took to Instagram to reminisce about the concert and discuss the 'feeling of union amongst everyone'.
"For the performance last night at #coronationconcert the audience lit up the space with red light and there was an amazing feeling of union amongst everyone," she said.

"It’s hard not to be reminded how all of those little lights represented a person , all equally important , and now more than ever we should remember that everyone deserves a chance. A coronation in a back drop of a huge poverty crisis in the U.K. can at times feel crass but I hope that King Charles as he has done for years with the @princestrust will do as much as he can in his reign to help Britain out of the horrific disparity between the classes that is today an urgent and very pressing issue.

Paloma posted a slew of photos of her outfit for the night as well as snaps of her with friends and stars.
She also shared a snap of her press outfit, writing: "Last night was a strange moment as we always associate royalty with history and everything about it felt garishly modern. But I suppose it was a sign of the times #coronationconcert."
"I wore this [Vivienne Westwood] dress to acknowledge what the late Vivienne had said: if we had lived by Charles environmental principles for the last 30 years the world would have been saved. It felt apt to acknowledge his priorities while performing at the castle. Thank you to everyone who tuned in…."

"Normally, you represent equality, empowerment, fairness, strength, and look at standing for what's right, rather than pleasing. You fell short on this one," one said.
Another wrote: "I just found it very confusing to see you performing, as you always speak out against inequality in the UK. How can the King's reign do anything about "the horrific disparity between the classes" whilst he's sitting at the top of the tree? Doesn't really make any sense."

However, many defended the star and appreciated the message she was trying to convey with her looks.
