Cheryl was overwhelmed with emotion as she received a standing ovation on the press night of her West End acting debut.

The former Girls Aloud star, 39, had a tear in her eye as the adoring crowd - including ex bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts - rushed to their feet to applaud the 2: 22 A Ghost Story show at London's Lyric Theatre.

It was Cheryl's first time performing on the West End after taking on the leading role of Jenny in the production. The role has been previously played by Laura Whitmore and Lilly Allen.

Cheryl's former bandmates Kimberley, 41, and Nicola, 37, were among the star-studded crowd for Cheryl's debut on Wednesday night and made a show of admiration for their pal whose career has taken on a different direction.
