Marcia Gay Harden has revealed all three of her children are queer.

The Oscar-winning actress, 63, made the announcement during a live telethon over the weekend.

She shares Eulala, 24, and 19-year-old twins Julitta and Hudson with her ex-husband, director Thaddaeus Scheel, 58.

Marcia was speaking at the Drag Isn't Dangerous: A Digital Fundraiser and she opened up to co-host Adam Shankman about why she felt she wanted to be involved in the event.

"What drives me is because it's right, and what's happening right now is wrong," she said.

"What drives me is — my children are all queer. My eldest child is non-binary. My son is gay. My youngest is fluid.

"And you know, they are my kids, and they teach me every day."

It was a rare moment for the So Help Me Todd star as she doesn't usually discuss her family life in public. But she felt the need to help the cause which was held in Los Angeles in response to state lawmakers' recent bid to ban drag shows and performances, claiming they are unsafe for minors.

Also present at the star-studded event - which went on for over four hours - were the likes of Idina Menzel, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy, Charlize Theron, Jesse Eisenberg and Sarah Hyland.

Marcia, who also starred in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, later shared a reel of images to her Instagram account.

She captioned the upload: "The only thing dangerous about drag is how hot these Queens are!"

She went on to urge her 116,000 followers to join in with the fundraising efforts from the event to help support the LGTBQ+ community.

Marcia continued: "Our nation, our neighbors, our children, artists, our singers, our dancers, our better leaders, ceo’s, writers, spiritual leaders, basically our humanity. Gay is here to stay. Drag is here to stay. Donate what you can, and join us in spreading the love."

Her message was well received by her fans and thousands hit the like button on the post, including Friends star Jennifer Aniston.

And fans were quick to leave an abundance of positivity in the comments section too, with one user gushing: "Just adore you for participating!!!"

Another added: "The name says it all, you really are the one true gay icon! thank you for everything you do for our community," while a third simply put: "Thank you."
