Amazon employee dies following incident at warehouse - staff told to go home
A police investigation has been launched after an Amazon employee died at one of the corperation's fulfilment centres.
Emergency services were called to the centre in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Monday afternoon.
The employee was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Allen County Sheriff’s Department have said they are investigating the employee's death at the Amazon Fulfilment Center on Smith Road, Fort Wayne.
Further details about how the person died have not yet been released. CCTV footage is being reviewed by investigators.

They also said they will also conduct a "thorough investigation of the incident."
A spokesperson for Amazon said: “We’re saddened by today’s tragic incident, and our thoughts and prayers are with our employee’s loved ones and our team at the facility.
"We’re conducting a thorough investigation of the incident and working closely with authorities as they conduct their own investigations as well.
"We’re also supporting our teams with anything they need, including counselling services, and we’ll continue assisting in the days and weeks ahead.”
