Lionel Richie puzzles viewers with 'different voice' as he sports youthful face
Lionel Richie confused viewers with his 'unrecognisable' voice as he performed at the Coronation concert in Windsor this evening.
The Dancing On The Ceiling singer was one of the performers at tonight's Coronation concert to mark the crowning of King Charles and Queen Camilla, which took place at Westminster Abbey yesterday. 20,000 people packed the grounds of Windsor Castle to celebrate the Coronation with a very special performance from Lionel and the other stars.
As he took to the stage, in a sparkly white suit with tails, he sang his track Easy (Like Sunday Morning) as well as All Night Long, which had the crowd - including the Royals - standing up and cheering along.
One viewer wrote: "What the hell has happened to Lionel Richie's voice? He sounds completely different and is terrible live! #CoronationConcert," as another added: "What happend to Lionel his voice? My ears.... #CoronationConcert."
A third shared: "Whose voice was Lionel Ritchie using ? It wasn’t his #CoronationConcert."
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessLionel previously described performing at the concert as "a once-in-a-lifetime event" and an "honour and celebration". He will be joined by the likes of Katy Perry and Take That, who will both be performing on the special stage.
The centrepiece of the concert will be Lighting Up The Nation, where locations across the UK will light up using projections, lasers, drone displays and illuminations in a very special part of the show.
BBC boss Charlotte Moore said ahead of the concert event: "We are bringing the nation together for this once-in-a-generation occasion, broadcast exclusively across the BBC live from Windsor Castle. We have a world class line-up of performers to look forward to for what promises to be a very special night of celebration and entertainment."
Lionel previously spoke to People about what a surprise it was to be contacted to perform.
"I mean, you don't get in the business and say, 'You know what? I'll be at the King's coronation.' You know, that just never comes up. It's A, a surprise. B, what an honour. And C, the fact of all the names that are out there that he could have had for this, he called my name," he said of the privilege of being asked to perform at the concert.
"I really do celebrate his now stepping into the king role. He's been in that prince role for a long time, but I'm anxious to see what he's going to now change as far as his reign. And so I know him as a wonderful person."
