BBC viewers fumed moments into the Coronation concert - as they slammed the line-up.

The Coronation concert is taking place at Windsor Castle tonight, with performances from the likes of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That to name a few. Paloma Faith and Olly Murs are also performing as well as Zak Abel, who is standing in for Freya Ridings.

However, viewers were quick to take to Twitter to fume over the line-up, which also includes the likes of Nicole Scherzinger, Andrea Bocelli, Paloma Faith and many more. Angry fans made their feelings known on social media just moments into the show starting to air on the BBC at 8pm, as they said they were glad they could skip through some acts at home.

"Is this the budget version!? #CoronationConcert," one angry viewer wrote, as a second added: "they could have got so many iconic british artists to do this concert, but then at the same time i don’t blame them for not wanting to do it #CoronationConcert."

A third wrote: "the lineup is a bit pants aint it? Kinda glad I'm at home where I can turn over for that acts that I said "Who?" at. #CoronationConcert," and a fourth penned: "WHAT a line up…. Haven’t heard of half of them!?! #CoronationConcert."

Freya was due to perform but fell ill and as a result had to cancel her performance at the event.

The BBC said in a statement: "The BBC has announced that British singer-songwriter Zak Abel is stepping in to perform at Sunday’s Coronation Concert at Windsor, replacing Freya Ridings, who has had to pull out, due to being unwell and unable to perform."

Zoe Ball also had to pull out from hosting the coverage on Radio 2, with Dermot O'Leary and Scott Mills taking her place.

Ed Sheeran has also spoke out to insist he wasn't invited to perform - not that he had declined.

"Lots of people are saying to me how it's random [Katy Perry and Lionel Richie] are going to sing at the King's Coronation... I want to clear something up actually," Ed began when chatting on SiriusXM.

"No one ever asked me [to perform]," the Shape of You singer added to the sound of gasps from the radio show's hosts. I assume if they went online and went 'what's Ed doing on May 6' they would go 'oh he's playing in Dallas' so I think that's what's happened."

"I never ever turned it down. I wasn't asked but yeah, I am excited to tune into that. Historic, isn't it?"
