Netflix is ready to share its latest harrowing true crime documentary series with the world.

Fans of the genre don't have long left to wait to get their hands on the four-part series with the streaming giants set to release the episodes on May 10.

The series titled Missing: Dead or Alive will feature a number of investigations as forces look into disappearances under mysterious circumstances.

Cameras will follow a team of South Carolina officers from the sheriff's department as they look into a number of cases involving both kids and adults.

Selling the show to its audience, Netflix bills the four-part series: "A new investigative Netflix documentary series that follows Richland County deputies searching for individuals who disappeared."

It's blurb continues: "Follow officers from a South Carolina sheriff’s department as they urgently search for individuals who've disappeared under troubling circumstances."

It is expected that each edition will feature different cases and the official trailer showed a number of officers in the station as well as out on patrol and in their vehicles.

One case mentioned on the trailer focused on a young South Carolina girl who was missing for over six weeks in 2020.

The girl, named Amirah Watson was reported missing after failing to return home after last being spotted with her mum Tynesha Brooks. The show follows the story of the missing child.

It's the latest in a long line of true crime series to take to the platform.

Recently, fans have enjoyed looking back at the Waco siege of 30 years ago. The three-part documentary series tells the horrific story in which 86 people died after a 51-day standoff in Waco in 1993.

And fans of true crime were shocked by jaw-dropping scenes on show throughout as America's largest gun fight broke out. A number of fans took to social media to brand the whole series "wild".
