A teenager was left outraged after an "entitled" passenger ordered her to sit elsewhere on a plane so she could have two seats to herself. The 18-year-old woman explained how she was travelling home from a holiday in North America with her mum - and ended up with a spare seat on their aisle.

However, another passenger didn't hesitate to speak up believing she'd be able to make better use of their extra seat. The teenager said: "My mum and I were sat in a row of three and had a spare seat. The entitled woman wanted me to swap with her so she could get two seats to herself while I sat with her husband and kid." She went on to explain how the woman approached them soon after the seatbelt sign went off - and even tried to "sweeten the deal" by saying the teenager could play with her five-year-old child.

She added: "The flight had a couple [of] spare seats from what I could see, including the one next to me.

"My mum and I had booked the middle and window seat but I moved to sit in the aisle so we would have more space.

"The woman sat in front [of me was] continuously whipping her head around to stare at me for a few seconds. I tried to ignore her but it was weird.

"After twenty minutes of her turning around to stare at me every few seconds, she eventually tapped me on the head by reaching over the seat.

"She said: 'Swap seats with me' and she maintained eye contact the whole time. I took a few minutes to respond because I was just dumbfounded."

The woman told her she'd "rather not" swap seats as she was happy sitting next to her mum. She then asked the woman to leave her alone and stop turning around to stare at her.

However not pleased with her answer, the "entitled" woman started shouting at her, loud enough for everybody else in the plane cabin to hear.

"She erupted. She started yelling at me, calling me a brat, calling me selfish. My mum was yelling at her back. The flight attendant during this argument shrinked away, just backed off and left," she added.

After realising she was "making a fool of herself", the entitled woman sat back down in her seat and reclined it as far back as possible out of spite.

She said: "My mum asked if I was okay and if I wanted her to make the woman move. I said I was fine.

"The woman started making huffing noises. I ignored her, put in my earphones and the rest of the flight was fine.

"When we landed, the entitled woman made sure to get up like a rocket and block the walkway so I couldn’t get out the aisle.

"I, however, was feeling petty. I stood up, shuffled over and said 'You don’t mind do you?' Then barged into the walkway in a way that looked accidental.

"She stumbled into someone else who promptly launched her back into her seat.

"It was hilarious, like watching a ping pong ball. She didn’t move after that and we got off the plane and never saw her again."

While most user slammed the entitled woman for trying to embarrass her into swapping seats, others shared their own "nightmare" travel stories.

One user said: "I bet she's the kind of person who would pay for coach and demand an upgrade for free."

Another user added: "This reminds me of that one time my boyfriend had to book a middle seat for himself. A so-called PhD and his wife (who automatically believed she was a PhD because she married one) took both the aisle and window.

"They proceeded to tell my boyfriend he should move because they had a right to that middle seat since they had paid for the window and aisle seats.

"My boyfriend didn't move and asked if they had paid for the middle seat as well, they said no, so he proceeded to tell them to shut up and he didn't leave."

A third user said: "Good job using her own words against her at the end."
