This is the shocking moment a 16-year-old girl was allegedly attacked by a man in a terrifying road rage incident.

Thomas Keebler, 40, from Alabama, US, was arrested last week after being captured on CCTV allegedly assaulting a teenager and her boyfriend at the Boggy Bayou Store petrol station in Florida.

He pursued the teenagers after tailgating their car and followed them to the station where he parked his car in front of them to prevent them from leaving.

The suspect was then seen shouting expletives before getting out his truck and lunging towards the teens in CCTV footage from the petrol station forecourt.

According to officers, he allegedly tried to thump a passenger in the back seat through an open window.

While another passenger can be seen trying to open the door to leave, the suspect repeatedly slams the door shut with his foot.

The 16-year-old girl then gets out of the car when Thomas "suddenly and with great force" throws her to the ground, according to his police report.

The driver of the car tries to get involved when the suspect grabs him into a headlock and continues to hit him in the head.

A petrol station customer quickly came out and tried to usher the man away from the car.

Police recognised Thomas in the CCTV and asked him to turn himself in, which he did, after admitting he allegedly lost his temper.

He asked officers on multiple occasions "Am I going to jail? It's OK if I am, I just want to be prepared."

Thomas was asked if he was aware of the age of the victims when he reportedly said: "I need an attorney, don't I?"

Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson Jr said the suspect is well-known to police.

He said: "This is an individual our deputies have encountered numerous times.

"Not to mention his extensive criminal history, which includes driving under the influence, assault, possession of cocaine, terroristic threats, public intoxication and more from jurisdictions across the Southeast. He is a danger on the road and off."

Thomas is charged with abuse of a child without great bodily harm, battery touch or strike to another person and criminal mischief.

He was released from the Walton County Jail on April 26 after posting a $5,000 bond.
