Shaun Ryder has spoken out about his weight-loss journey, confirming he lost two stone after taking the diabetes drug Ozempic.

The Happy Mondays rocker said taking part in I'm A Celebrity and living in the harsh conditions of the jungle wasn’t easy given his list of ailments.

He became the first celebrity to leave the jungle after suffering with health issues.

He told the Sun: “Being 60 with hip problems, thyroid problems, f**king testosterone problems and everything else. People have noticed I don't have any f**king eyebrows and eyelashes, from my alopecia.

“Basically, you know, the jungle slapped me right across the face and said 'calm down, mate'."

Shaun revealed he struggles with an underactive thyroid and how hard it is to lose weight with the condition.

Shaun continued: “I think I was 16 stone and now I'm down to 14 because of them jabs you stick in your belly, that they say the Kardashians are on? Ozempic. I've been on them and I’ve lost two stone.”

Ozempic has swept through Hollywood, with Kim and Khloe Kardashian rumoured to have taken it in order to aid with weight loss.

However, the drug is intended to treat symptoms of obesity that stems from health conditions such as diabetes and thyroid conditions.

Shaun isn’t the only celebrity to speak out about taking Ozempic, with Jeremy Clarkson, Elon Musk and US comedian Chelsea Handler also publicly discussing the drug.

His weight loss has allowed Shaun to resume cycling, which he has said helps him stay clean from drugs.
