Guardiola delivers "best goal" reminder to Haaland despite ridiculous new record
Pep Guardiola opened up the history books to praise record breaker Erling Haaland as Manchester City reclaimed top spot.
Haaland got his 50th goal in all competitions for City this season as they overtook Arsenal at the Premier League summit and chased down a Treble.
City boss Pep Guardiola said: “I know that Winston Churchill was not even Prime Minister the last time the record was set that Erling broke. He showed his mentality with his goal. Congratulations to Erling. The best goal is to help us achieve what we want.
“All the time, we came from a run of victories as Arsenal didn't drop points and it looked like the target was just beating Arsenal. But when you play that game, you can drop a little bit.
“But I didn't see that drop. We have a lot of games every three days, and it is normal. Winning games help us to be faster and we accept the challenge.

“The game was so tight until the end, we could not expect anything different.
"This amount of games is a lot but we knew that after we beat Arsenal at home that winning these types of games is really important. The players behaved amazingly.
“It's important but on Tuesday Arsenal will play. The important thing is the West Ham game, it's a game in hand. After that we'll be top of the table and it will be more real.”

Fulham boss Marco Silva praised his players for their performance but bemoaned referee Simon Hooper who waved away second half penalty appeals when Kyle Walker pushed Bobby De Cordova-Reid.
Silva said: “We were competitive and tried until the last minute. We have to be proud of the boys. During the match we felt that 50/50 decisions were against us again. It is what it is and I can't control it.”
