Kate Ferdinand has already chosen her unborn daughter's 'unisex' name
Kate Ferdinand has revealed she has already chosen a name for her unborn daughter.
The 31-year-old former The Only Way Is Essex star is currently six months pregnant with her second child with footballer husband Rio Ferdinand.
They already share two-year-old son Cree and Kate is step-mum to Rio's kids from his previous relationship with late wife Rebecca Ellison - Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and 12-year-old Tia.
But as the couple prepare to welcome another baby, Kate shared her and Rio already have an idea of what they are going to call their new arrival.
And it's a name that their older children picked out before when Kate was pregnant with Cree.
Kate Ferdinand cries over Rio's late wife's last act of motherhood before deathExplaining the kids are at the heart of every decision that involves the new babies, Kate told The Sun : "We had another name for Cree - a unisex one - and we think that might be the baby's name.
"We haven't told anyone, because we don't want people's opinions. But you have to see when they come. What's she going to look like? Is she going to suit it?"
And with so many boys in the house already, Kate said the whole family are thrilled there will soon be another girl in the house.
“Me and Tia are very outnumbered. I’m really lucky because all the kids are very helpful with Cree, but we need a bit of female energy,” she joked.
Kate admitted she is enjoying her second pregnancy more this time round after suffering a devastating miscarriage following her 12-week scan last year.
Bravely opening up about her loss on social media, she shared: "The last time I was in this hospital I was having Cree, but this time it was because our baby had no heartbeat in our 12 week scan and I had to have surgery.
"We were so excited & planning a space for our new baby in our family, we just couldn’t wait to share our news with you all, but unfortunately sometimes life just doesn’t go as we plan."
She continued: "So much to say, but somehow I can’t find the words. Absolutely devastated & heartbroken …but couldn’t be more grateful for the hugs I got from my big(er) babies coming through the door when we arrived home."
Because of what happened before, Kate is understandably cautious about her latest pregnancy, but so far everything seems to be going to plan.
The former reality star shared: "It's a bit of a worry with what happened last time with the miscarriage, and now we're going to have five children. When I say that out loud, that frightens me. But we're so excited, it's such a blessing."
Vicky Pattison baffles fans as she 'turns into Lorraine Kelly' with new accentOpening up on her Blended podcast, she added: "In my last pregnancy, when I had the miscarriage, I moaned constantly.
"And then when the miscarriage happened, I felt terrible for moaning and thinking I was really ungrateful.
"I'm not sure if Rio would agree, but I think I've moaned a little bit less this time."
Kate and Rio have been together six years now, meeting in 2017 and tying the knot in a lavish wedding in Turkey in 2019.
Now about to become parents to five children between them, Kate says she couldn't have imagined this is how her life would have turned out.
But she does remember thinking Rio was 'The One' on the day she met him.
She revealed to The Sun : “On the day I met Rio, I said: ‘I’m going to marry him’. I just had a feeling. I hadn’t taken anything into consideration. But we got on so well.
"We just clicked. When I told him that, he was like: ‘OK,’ [laughs]. But when you know, you know.”
