BGT fans fume 'what were the judges looking at?' over 'bizarre' animated cat

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli were left speechless on Saturday when a cat appeared to sing in perfect pitch.

The Britain's Got Talent judges were bemused when a grey animated cat appeared on stage with a Union Flag handkerchief tied around its neck.

"It's a cat!" Bruno remarked before the creature greeted the judges: "My name is Noodle. I wanted to come and audition for Britain's Got Talent because there are so many dogs made famous by the show, I thought it was time you saw a talented cat."

The cat coughed up a fur ball before Michael Bublé's Feeling Good began to play.

"This might be the most bizarre thing I've ever seen," Alesha commented.

In an unexpected twist, Noodle wowed the judges and the audience with their stunning vocals.

Noodle received a standing ovation from the judges as Amanda remarked: "OMG! I can't believe that voice has come out of somebody with such a tiny neck."

"You must be Michael Bublé's pussycat," Bruno joked.

Britain's Got Talent viewers were floored by the supposed cat's vocals as one tweeted: "Am I the only one disturbed that now CGI singing cats are acceptable as contestants on #BGT2023 #BGT #BritainsGotTalent."

"So going by what Noodle the Cat “apparently” did by auditioning, maybe next year someone could bring an mp3 of someone singing and a cardboard cutout of a giraffe, and as long as the singing is good, they are through. #bgt," another fumed.

A third quipped: "It turns out the real stars of Britain's Got Talent are piano-tapping dogs and bot cats. Maybe it’s time the judges and producers were exchanged for bots too, there again, perhaps they have, that would explain why the show is complete [angry emoji]. #BGT #AnimalTalent #RobotSingers."

Some viewers were left confused by the act and what the judges would have seen on stage during the audition.

"Just saw a CGI cat on #BGT What the hell are the audience watching? Show is finished," one said while another added: "#BritainsGotTalent #BGT so the cat is just fake?? wtf were the judges and audience seeing."
