Heather Mills after marriage to Sir Paul McCartney and huge divorce payout
Heather Mills and Sir Paul McCartney's bitter divorce caught the attention of news headlines around the world in 2008, with Heather winning a divorce payout of £24.3 million.
The bitter battle between the pair saw Heather accuse her musician ex and former Beatles singer in court of regularly being drunk and taking drugs during their marriage. She also alleged that he had been physically abusive towards her during their four-year marriage.
The pair met in 1999, married in 2002 and separated in 2006 before finalising their divorce in 2008. The couple share a daughter named Beatrice from their relationship together.
Their divorce battle at London's High Court was filled with volatile moments, with Heather demanding £125m of the Beatles legend's money. One key moment included the moment that Heather poured a glass of water over the head of Sir Paul McCartney's lawyer Fiona Shackleton in response to questioning.
However, the court ruled in favour of Sir Paul and only awarded Heather £24.3 million as a settlement. The judge presiding over the case, Mr Justice Bennett also slammed Heather's evidence as he said she was "Not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid."

Speaking after the verdict was delivered, Paul described his marriage to Heather as his worst error in the last decade, as he stated: "I suppose that has to be the prime contender."
He continued: "I don't want to down anyone. These things happen. I tend to look at the positive side, which is that I have another beautiful daughter out of it."
Equally, Heather had less than favourable things to say about her ex-husband as she told reporters at the time: "I'm so glad it's over."
Whilst Heather vowed to never remarry after her divorce from Paul, she did later wed her second husband Mike Dickman in 2021.
The businessman and Heather first went public with their relationship in 2019 and reportedly got engaged two years later on the palm-fringed sand at the Anantara resort.
Following her high-profile divorce in 2008, Heather received a £24.3m divorce settlement, plus payments of £35,000 per annum for a nanny and school costs for daughter Beatrice.
One year later In 2009, Heather bought vegan food company VBites and later revealed she had invested nearly all of her divorce settlement after being refused a loan by the Government.
At the time, Heather raved about her new vegan venture as she said: "Everyone was laughing at [veganism] 25 years ago, saying we were nuts. It's brilliant everyone has caught on to the plant-based movement."
Outside of business, Heather has seen been seen on reality shows including America's Dancing With The Stars in 2007 and also on Channel 4's The Jump where she a skiing world record as the fastest disabled woman in the world, launching down the slopes at 103.6mph.
