An urban explorer rediscovered an eerie abandoned millionaire's mansion which dates back to the 18th century and has a history of tragedies.

The home was last inhabited in the 1980s, but was later lost as it fell from people’s memories.

Now Ben, from Lost Adventures on YouTube, has rediscovered the abandoned mansion.

Its sad history includes tragic murders and suicides of people who had previously lived on the estate.

Ben said: "I risked my life going into the building to get some footage but I think it was definitely worth it.

"In 1880 a woman's body was found floating in the well, and five years later the stonemason shot himself with his shotgun and died.

"The manor was last inhabited in the 1980s, and since then has become more weather damaged over the years, just like many of the English Heritage buildings that don't get looked after properly.

"The history of the location goes all the way back to Tudor times. However, it has obviously been redeveloped and remodelled throughout the years.

"There are plaques on the walls that also date back to the 18th Century. Some of my favourite parts of the exploration were the Poseidon statue in the middle of the courtyard which is missing its trident in his right hand.

"It's either been removed due to protection of value or thieves have already taken it.

"Getting inside the old manor's main parts was another highlight for me because, as you can see towards the end of the video, it was a surprise that some parts are in great condition and that other parts could cost you your life entering the room."

It comes as urban explorer Jose Flores, 23, explored an abandoned home where two women were murdered.

The property in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, is known as the site of an infamous murder in 1993.

Urban explorer Jose Flores, 23, decided to explore the and share his eerie findings on TikTok, including the bizarre history behind the murder mystery.

After walking through the rundown and ancient doors, he found dark and eerie rooms that were left completely untouched.

Chandeliers, dressing tables, and other worn furniture can be seen still standing throughout the home.

The TikToker, from Mexico, said: "It feels as if something is watching you at all times, as if you are not alone inside this place."
