Boy and girl, both 15, arrested after teen, 16, found stabbed to death in park
A teenage boy and girl have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 16-year-old was stabbed to death in a park, police said.
Brianna Ghey's body was found on a path at Linear Park in Culcheth, Warrington, by members of the public, who alerted the police at 3.13pm on Saturday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A boy and girl, both 15, have since been arrested on suspicion of murder. They both remain in custody assisting police with their investigation.
Police have said at this time they do not believe Brianna's death is "hate-related".

A gymnastics coach who knew Brianna when she was younger, told the Liverpool ECHO: "She used to come into the gym in the school and do gymnastics with us, she was a lovely kid."
Detective Chief Superintendent Mike Evans said: “A number of enquiries in relation to this incident are underway and we are doing all that we can to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened.

“Patrols have been stepped up in the local area and officers will remain in the Culcheth area to provide reassurance and address any concerns that residents may have.
“I would ask anyone who has any information, no matter how big or small, that they believe could help with our investigation to get in touch.
“We are also keen for people and businesses within the local community to check any CCTV or dashcam footage for anything that may aid our investigation.”
