Gymnast Olivia Dunne given key advice from golf influencer Paige Spiranac
Olivia Dunne has revealed the advice she's been given by fellow influencer and former golfer Paige Spiranac.
The gymnast, 20 - who represents Louisiana State University (LSU) in her sporting career - has found success outside of the field, as she's proved popular on social media.
She is now reportedly one of the highest-paid college athletes at the moment and has amassed millions of social media followers, including more than 7 million on her TikTok account alone.
Olivia - who has worked with brands like American Eagle - spoke about sponsorship deals on The Today Show earlier this year, revealing that she makes seven figures.
Although Olivia has a supporting fanbase on social media, she has previously spoken about having received negative feedback from some people over her content.
NFL's most unprecedented Super Bowl incident caused fears of terrorist attackShe has now spoken about having been supported by former professional golfer Paige, 30 - who herself ventured into being an influencer and brand opportunities.
Discussing her rise to fame, Olivia told Sports Illustrated that the biggest thing she has learned is that she should ensure that certain parts of her life are kept private.
The gymnast - who has 4 million followers on Instagram - said: "Some things you don't want the whole world knowing, so [you have to] keep certain parts of your life private."
Olivia suggested that Paige had been supportive with this, saying: "That's something that [she] kind of helped me with [...] just keeping certain parts of your life private."
And further commenting on this approach to social media, she added: "Making sure not to post certain things that maybe you don’t want people's feedback on."
Paige came to Olivia's defence in a post on Twitter just last year around the time that some concern was shared over athletes using sex appeal to build their brands.
The golf instructor commented in November: "I'm so sick of women belittling accomplishments of other women because it's done differently than they would."
She said that Olivia was "getting hate" for having a seven-figure income, adding: "She's built a successful business (at 20) all while being a student-athlete. That's bada**."
Whilst discussing Paige during her recent interview, Olivia described her as an example of someone who is "beautiful and athletic and successful" simultaneously.
Seemingly addressing the tweet in post, she further stated that it is "awesome" to have someone like Paige stand up for her and express their support towards her.
