Jerry Springer is the undisputed talk show king, but that didn't stop him from taking part in a number of blockbuster movies and iconic TV shows.

The American broadcaster, who has sadly died at the age of 79, achieved worldwide fame in the 90s with The Jerry Springer Show.

He became well-known for interviewing outrageous guests who would often fight in front of a cheering audience.

However, some fans might be shocked to find out Jerry also appeared in the likes of Austin Powers, The Simpsons and The X-Files.

The TV legend showed his range as he took on a number of different roles, ranging from witches to lottery winners to himself.

Despite being released 26 years ago, Austin Powers is still loved by millions and Jerry Springer making a cameo in the 1999 sequel Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

He appeared in a scene that saw characters Dr Evil, Frau Farbissiner and their son Scott appear as guests on Jerry's famous talk show in a segment titled: "My son is evil and wants to take over the world."

The scene ends with Jerry hilariously getting into a physical altercation with Dr Evil, having just criticised his guests for fighting.

Speaking about the scene in 2019, director Jay Roach said he was unsure if Jerry would be up for it.

"He not only went for it, but he was fully enthusiastic and completely convincing when he started punching Mike," he told The Independent.

Ringmaster

25 years ago, a Jerry Springer inspired film was released, with the talk show host even starring in the movie.

Ringmaster, released in 1998, saw Jerry act as a fictionalised version of himself named Jerry Farrelly who was the host of a trashy talk show simply called Jerry.

The film, which also stars Jaime Pressly as a trailer park queen, was sadly a box office flop.

While his appearance was one to be talked about, the episode also had plenty of other weird goings on, including a Frankenstein-like creature who loves peanut butter sandwiches and a town of people that may or may not be part animal.

In the episode, Jerry interviews the mother of a spooky werewolf baby.
