Jerry Springer's cause of death has been revealed as it has been announced the TV star died at age 79.
The talkshow icon was diagnosed with cancer a few months before his passing.
A family spokesperson said he was battling a "brief illness" but a source told TMZ Jerry was battling pancreatic cancer after being diagnosed a few months ago and the star "took a turn for the worse".
The spokesperson also explained how Jerry died peacefully at his home in the Chicago area on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, his devastated loved ones confirmed that several months ago, Jerry was diagnosed with cancer.

"He's irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humour will live on."
As news of Jerry's death was announced, tributes to the star began pouring in across social media.
Celebrity Gogglebox and YouTube star KSI said: "Rip Jerry Springer. You made my off days at school so much more entertaining."
Wrestler The Iron Sheik, who appeared on The Jerry Springer Show in 1999, shared a video from his stint on Twitter and wrote: "JERRY SPRINGER I LOVE YOU FOREVER BUBBA. THIS VIDEO REMIND ME THAT YOU WERE THE LEGEND OF THE EARTH LIKE THE IRON SHEIK. GOD BLESS YOU FOREVER".
Meanwhile, fans also paid tribute to the TV star.
One said: "Long Live Jerry Springer man he will be remembered for generations".
Another added: "Oh no…RIP Jerry Springer…thank you for giving 90s kids something to watch when we stayed home "sick" from school".
And a third added: "Man, this hurts. RIP Jerry Springer. Thank you for bringing the heat," followed by a heart emoji.

As the news was announced, Jerry's decision to retire "while I'm still healthy" was revealed.
He explained: "I'm 78 and have been in front of the camera now for 40 years, plus 10 years in politics. I'm winding down."
