Camp harmony will be torn apart on I’m A Celebrity when three stars are unmasked as contraband smugglers – including Gillian McKeith.

Reality TV star Georgia Toffolo, 28, calls the celebs together and reads a bulletin from bosses.

She tells them: “Celebrities, there is contraband in camp. You will not get your dinner until you have all surrendered – with all underlined – the contraband. There is an amnesty bowl in the Telegraph.”

The news is met with shock and anger, but it emerges several of them have not been playing by the rules, including a repeat offender.

On tonight’s show Gillian, 63, is seen going into the long- drop toilet with Helen Flanagan so they cannot be seen talking. But dozy Gillian forgets that bosses will pick up what she is saying on her mic.

She whispers to Helen: “I’ve got salt, I’ve got almonds.”

Actress Helen, 32, replies: “We’d get in so much s***, Gillian. Do you not think?”

Gillian says: “I don’t know.”

TV star Gillian, who grins as the bulletin is read out by reality star Toff, smuggled salt, pepper, herbs and spices in her knickers when she appeared on the show in Australia 12 years ago.

Viewers will find out the names of the other two offenders on the show tonight, and the consequences will spill over for days.

A show source said: “This rule breaking seems funny to some people but others are not impressed and think they should be punished, and that it is not part of the game. It leads to a big row and the happy atmosphere is broken for good between some contestants. It really kicks off.”

Over the years a number of celebrities have attempted to sneak in items.

Naughty Boy tried to get spices into the Welsh camp in 2021 but was instantly caught.

Made in Chelsea star Hugo Taylor flouted the rules by hiding salt and pepper sachets in his backpack in 2012. And model Amy Willerton smuggled in an entire bag of make-up in 2013 – and was only caught 10 days in.

TV chef Gino D’Acampo said he stuffed his pillow full of salt, sugar, teas and coffee in 2009. “I had it in my shoes as well. I thought, ‘If the se curity guys catch the stuff in the pillow, I still have the stuff in the shoes.’”

Speaking about her 2010 contraband, Gillian said: “I smuggled it all in my knickers, I have a small bottom and I just grew it a bit.

“I had special pockets in my Marks & Spencer’s knickers that I made. I did it for the team. They really appreciated it.” Items she took in included stock cubes, tea bags, miso soup powder and salt.
