A young boy from Hull has been left "petrified" after a man stole his two favourite toys.

His mum Natalie Robson’s garage was broken into in the early hours of Saturday, April 22 and four-year-old Ronnie’s electric ride-on police car and bike were stolen. Ronnie loves the police, so he is devastated that his precious toys have been taken.

Natalie does not have CCTV at her house but a takeaway down the road does and it caught footage of a man with the toys.

He managed to get into the garage through the patio doors even though they were locked, according to Natalie.

She said: “My son is absolutely distraught. He’s petrified now in case someone comes back.

“Every morning he’s asking if they’ve been brought back yet or if anyone has got them but we don’t have them and we’re unsure of who’s actually got them at the minute. It’s more frustrating that it's childs' toys.

“It’s horrible because my son’s going to school explaining to his teachers what’s happened. No four-year-old should have to do that.”

The police have been informed and they have been carrying out enquiries, including reviewing the CCTV footage provided by the takeaway.

Natalie shared a post on Facebook asking people to come forward if they saw anything or if they have any information. The post has already had more than 700 shares, reports HullLive.

Ronnie was given the toys for Christmas, making them even more special to him. Natalie added: “He’s police-obsessed hence why the police car and bike. He loves the police so to know that they’ve gone he’s absolutely distraught.

“They’re his favourite toys. He often goes out riding on them and he keeps asking if he can go out on them but obviously he can’t because they’ve gone.

“It’s just unsettling that someone’s been on the property and been in our personal space.”

The incident happened between 1 and 1.30am on Saturday, April 22. Anyone who any information can contact police and refer to the crime number 20230423-0212.
