Len Goodman 's loved ones have paid tribute to the late star and described the Strictly Come Dancing legend as "warm, witty and wonderful."

Writing on the Facebook page for his dance school, The Goodman Academy, Len's son shared a link to a fundraiser set up to honour his father following Len's death at the age of 78 over the weekend.

Len 's death from bone cancer was announced on Monday, with Buckingham Palace and the UK Prime Minister paying tribute to the TV legend as the sad news broke.

The Dancing With The Stars judge left behind a £5.3million fortune when he sadly passed away on Saturday, just days before his 79th birthday.

"This site is a tribute to the warm, witty and wonderful Len Goodman, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side," Len's son James Goodman writes.

"How we wish he was still here with us but we are so proud of what he achieved, the happiness he brought us all and the legacy he has left."

He continues: "He was known to millions as the first Head Judge on Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars but to many of us, who knew him personally, he was just “Lucky Len with the boyish grin”.

"We know he has had an impact on many of you over the years as a friend, teacher, mentor and judge and so we have created this site for you to share your stories and memories of his life."

"Len had four charities that were close to his heart that he had supported over the years and we hope that you would also consider making a donation, no matter how small, in his memory."

The four charities are; Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Age UK, Hospice in the Weald and Variety The Children's Charity. So far, £753.75 has been donated.

"I worked at The London Golf club in the early 2000’s and often served Len either in the spike bar or at numerous charity golfing events," one fan of Len's left on the tribute section of the site. "A legend and truly charming man, if not a bit cheeky! RIP Len, I’ll remember our interactions fondly."

Another added: "Such a lovely down to earth man who made such an impact to our Saturday night tv viewing. Thank you Len, the memories will live forever. RIP."

Len's death was publicly announced on Monday morning, with a statement from his agent reading: "It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78.

Len leaves behind his wife Sue Barrett, who he married in 2012 in a surprise ceremony, and his son James, from a previous relationship.

Just weeks before Len's death over the weekend, accounts were signed off for the late star's company and revealed he had over £3.5million in his bank account.

The accounts for Pleasurable Pastimes, which were signed off on April 5 and cover the 12 months leading up to August 2022, also show the Dancing With The Stars judge had a £2.2million property investment.

Pleasurable Pastimes' value soared by approximately £300,000 when compared to the year previously, according to accounts filed at Companies House on April 20.

Len, his wife Sue and son James are all listed as directors of the company listed on Companies House, with Sue and James' occupations as dance teachers also noted online.
