Rapper Desiigner checks into mental health facility after months of 'struggling'
Rapper Desiigner has opened up about his mental health struggles and announced he has checked himself into hospital after allegedly acting inappropriately on a plane.
The 25-year-old took to his Instagram Story on Friday to tell fans he is "ashamed" of how he acted during the flight and said he has been "struggling" for months.
Desiigner, whose real name is Sidney Royel Selby III, was on a flight to the US when he was accused of "inappropriate behaviour".
"For the past few months I have not been ok, and I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While oversears for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital.
"I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home," he said.

The New York-based musician did not specify what happened on the plane in his post.
He announced he will be cancelling all shows and obligations until further notice.
Finishing his statement, Desiigner added: "Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If your not feeling like yourself please get help."
His statement comes after a source told TMZ he displayed inappropriate behaviour on the flight back from Thailand and Tokyo and was admonished by a flight attendant after the incident.
After landing in Minneapolis, Desiigner was questioned by police about the incident and released.
The source told the publication that the Champions hitmaker was prescribed medication during his trip, which he believes caused a chemical imbalance.
The artist had been in Thailand last Friday to perform at the Rolling Loud festival.
