Aaron Carter's cause of death was confirmed on Wednesday, but mystery still remains about the people he was with in the run-up to the incident.

That's the thoughts of his ex-representatives Kelly K and Holly Davidson, who have claimed the singer was with two people in his home in the run-up to his death on November 5, 2022.

According to the autopsy report, Aaron's death at the age of 34 was caused by the star drowning in his bathtub.

It's said he had taken alprazolam, a generic version of Xanax, and inhaled compressed difluoroethane, which is a propellant used in cans of compressed air.

The report said that the singer had become "incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects" of the drugs.

It's said that this resulted in him slipping underneath the bathwater and drowning.

And now speaking of the findings, Kelly and Holly said they are glad the case is finally closed so they can "have a celebration of life and send him off to rest".

However, they insist there are still issues that need to be looked into.

"We know two people were at his house leading up to his death and are puzzled as to why those two haven’t been properly identified and/or investigated," they continued to tell Page Six.

The Mirror has contacted the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, who conducted the investigation into Aaron's death, for comment.

While speculation seemingly still surrounds the moments prior to Aaron's death in some corners - his ex-fiancee also has unanswered questions - the force had previously ruled out any "foul play".

On March 2, the department told Rolling Stone: "Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of Aaron Carter.

"To date, there has been no evidence of foul play found during the investigation. The results of Mr Carter’s autopsy are still pending. The investigation remains ongoing."

Following the release of the autopsy, Aaron's ex Melanie Martin, who is also the mother of his child, told TMZ: "It claims death is by drowning but also adds he was wearing a t-shirt and necklace in the bathtub which don’t make sense, why would he be in a bathtub with clothes on?

"I am still in shock and still miss Aaron every day. I don’t understand the chain of events and this report only has us asking more questions."

Aaron had risen to fame in the late 1990s as a pop singer of his own merit, opening up for the Backstreet Boys in Berlin at the age of nine.

His older brother, Nick Carter, was a singer in the popular boyband.
