King Charles has not invited Sarah Ferguson to the Coronation ceremony on May 6 - but do YOU think the Duchess of York should attend the historic event?

The former sister-in-law of the King will be watching the crowning of Charles and Camilla at Westminster Abbey on TV after being shunned from the invite list.

This means Fergie, 63, will not be seated next to her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, who are 10th and 11th in line to the throne.

Instead, Prince Andrew’s former wife has been handed a key role as a “VIP attendee” at the Coronation concert at Windsor Castle the following day.

Katy Perry, Take That and Lionel Richie are among the musical line-up who will perform on the East Lawn to mark the momentous occasion.

Fergie, who still lives with the Duke of York at the Royal Lodge even though they divorced in 1996, was reportedly not expecting an invite to the official Coronation ceremony, but was "delighted to join the wider family for the Coronation Concert".

The royal insider told The Sun: "She cherishes those more relaxed times with the family and, contrary to some reports, is fully accepting of the situation.

“She did, of course, join the family for the Sandringham Christmas celebrations, so it’s clear there is no ill will in either direction. Quite the contrary.”

Meanwhile, royal commentator Tom Bower told MailOnline that Sarah had excluded herself because of her previous “conduct”, adding that her presence “would provoke critical comment which Charles doesn’t need”.

And royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams stated that the King’s decision was “extremely wise” because she has been an “embarrassment to the royal family for many years”.
