One football fan was left in a state of shock after finding the £3.50 cheeseburger they bought themselves at Everton's Goodison Park was missing a key ingredient.

Fans attending a match will race to get themselves a burger or a pie to keep warm on the terraces on Saturday afternoons, but this snack left one punter disappointed.

Jack Toulson grabbed himself the cheeseburger as a pre-match snack at Fulham's 3-1 win at Goodison Park on Saturday.

But when the food turned up, Jack was fuming to learn it had no cheese on it - he took one bite and threw the rest of the burger away as it was not what he had asked for.

Jack took to social media to share his disappointment for his pre-match burger, and others supported him, with some branding the purchase as "shocking."

"It was meant to have cheese in it but I guess they forgot," Jack said.

"I had one bite and threw it away. It cost me £3.50. Everton were playing Fulham, but I don't support either team."

Some punters even joked that Everton should face relegation over the sad-looking burger.

One football fan jibed: "They deserve to be relegated, just for that."

Another added: "Just when you thought things could not get any worse for Everton. I would have booed if someone gave me that."

A third asked: "Where’s the cheese?"

Meanwhile, another Twitter user joked: "Better than the defence they have."
