Strictly's Motsi Mabuse 'sued by ex husband' over autobiography attack

Motsi Mabuse is being sued by her ex-husband after she called him 'controlling' and made a series of damning allegations in her autobiography, it has been claimed.

Timo Kulczak has reportedly launched legal action against the Strictly Come Dancing judge for comments she made about him in her book.

In Motsi's 2022 memoir Finding My Own Rhythm, she suggests 45-year-old Timo stopped her having a baby.

Motsi, 42, also said that during their 11-year marriage, Timo paid her an allowance from the money she earned for her TV appearances and teaching.

She also alleged that he refused to let her open her own dance school.

Legal papers seen by The Sun reportedly show that Timo is demanding £70,000 from the star, who he shares a daughter with.

According to the writ, the German dancer must stop “implying that the plaintiff made the defendant suffer during their marriage”.

It also demands Mosti states “publicly the statements published in the book and cited press reports are untrue”.

The lawsuit has been filed at Offenburg Regional Court which means as a German citizen, the ballroom judge cannot ignore it.

The pair married when she was just 22 before she called an end to their marriage back in 2014.

In November last year, Timo hit back at Motsi's claims and accused her of fabricating the story in order to 'push book sales'.

Saying he was 'deeply' disappointed and 'hurt' he denied trying to control his ex wife.

Hinting at legal action, he said he had tried to settle the matter out of court.

He told The Sun : "She did something bad to me and my family and I can't accept that, now I have reached a point whereby I cannot just let things stand as they are when something is put out there in public and it is simply not true.

"Looking back, I remember a very good and positive and happy time that simply cannot be compared to some of the claims about me that have now come to light."

He added: "I was a loving and caring husband who was always by her side at any time, when she needed help. I don't feel I was controlling, I see all of what I did as organising and being helpful to her."

Mirror Online have approached Motsi's representatives for comment.

His lawyer Samy Hammad said: “My client’s reputation has repeatedly been trashed.”
