Netflix's You series 4 fans gobsmacked as character returns from the dead

Netflix's hit drama You has got fans going wild after they spotted the return of a legendary character in the next part of season four.

The streaming giant has now released a teaser trailer for the upcoming instalment and it's left fans overcome with excitement.

Serial killer Joe Goldberg ( Penn Badgley ) has made his way to London in the latest series and even managed to secure a job teaching American literature, but it seems as though he can't quite shake off his murderous past.

In the latest clip, Joe's late wife Love Quinn ( Victoria Pedretti ) could be seen briefly smiling at Joe inside one of his glass boxes and fans have been left wondering what it means.

Love appeared to have suffered at the hands of her husband in season three as Joe framed her in a fake murder-suicide.

At the end of season three Love seemingly burned inside her house, but fans are now questioning if she actually managed to survive.

Fans have rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one person writing: "Now to wait a month, to see this: PLEASE TELL ME THAT LOVE IS STILL ALIVE."

"Love survived that fire and that’s a conversation y’all aren’t ready to have," another insisted.

A third fan tweeted: "I am begging that this is not a flashback. I miss her so much and I stg we didn’t see a body so she’s still alive in my head."

Another added: "Love isn’t dead… I knew it…"

However, things may not be as they seem and Love might not actually be back from the dead.

Fans will remember Joe's late girlfriend Guinevere Beck returning as a hallucination in season two and it could be possible that it will be the same for Love.

The first season of You aired in 2018 and fans have been captivated ever since, with the second and third seasons released in 2019 and 2021 respectively.

The fourth season is being released in two parts, with the first half already available to viewers.

The second instalment is set to be available from March 9.
