Bargain Hunt in chaos as guests clash with expert over 'dangerous' items

Bargain Hunt took a drastic turn when a pair of guests appeared to clash with the experts during a recent episode of the BBC One programme.

Each week, bargain lovers find themselves on the lookout for the best buys ahead of an auction to see who can make the most profit out of the purchases.

However, during one episode, things went a bit differently after a pair of guests purchased an item which was considered to be prohibited.

Expert Thomas Forrester was on hand to help the red team, while Tim Weeks offered his invaluable advice to the blue team.

However, Tim's guests were left speechless when they were informed that they were unable to flog some of their purchases at auction.

Client relations employee Bonnie and stylist Carys has been tasked with finding a piece of vintage clothes and spent £80 on what appeared to be vintage dresses.

But to their dismay, the experts later claimed that the dresses were not vintage and they were subsequently disqualified from the competition.

However, the pair seemed to be down on their look and clashed with Tim over another purchase that had caught their eyes.

Carys and Bonnie were attracted to a pair of grey aircraft seats which featured the infamous pull-down tray tables.

Tim, however, believed that the seats wouldn't fetch much at the auction and he went on to share his unpopular opinion with the pair, stating that they were a "dangerous buy" before adding: "Not many people buy this sort of thing".

He went on to say: "Your average buyer is not going to be looking for these, are they," before Carys added: "I love them. I feel as though it's a sign that we're going somewhere hot and we should buy them."

But Carys and Bonnie stayed true to their heart and purchased the airliner seats for a mere £35, which they later went on to sell for £38 making a £3 profit.

Their luck wasn't out though as they went on to sell a pair of insect cases which they had purchased for £20, for £22 at auction meaning they walked away with a £2 profit.

Sadly, the red team had the upper hand after the "vintage" dresses purchased by the blue team were excluded from the final auction.

Helen and David, a married couple, made a £45 profit, with a pair of salt pots getting £40 more than they paid and an ink pot raking in a £5 profit.
