Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster have reportedly renewed their vows for a second time whilst in Australia.

The singer, 79, has been touring Down Under for the past month but has is said to have found time away from the spotlight to reaffirm his marriage.

Sir Rod and model Penny, 52, have been married since 2007 and are understood to have been joined on their visit to the country by their sons Alastair, 17, and Aiden, 12.

The couple are approaching their 16th wedding anniversary and had previously renewed their vows back in 2017 to mark ten years of marriage.

The Maggie May star is claimed to have "spaced out his tour" so his children could attend the ceremony, according to Woman's Day magazine.

A friend close to the family, said: "There's a very good reason why Rod's insisted he space out his tour dates – it's the perfect place and the perfect time to renew their wedding vows."

The insider claimed Penny and Rod have been wanting to renew their vows for a while, adding: "Now they can't wait and are using this chance to do something special while here."

The couple's first vow renewal took place in an intimate ceremony held at their Essex home, in front of 100 family and friends.

Hello! revealed at the time that the pair exchanged the same vows as their original ceremony beside a beech tree at the bottom of their garden.

Penny said: "Being able to reflect on those ten years, and say those words to one another and still know we mean them is important. This felt more special.

"You get married with the hope that you'll be together; when we renewed our vows, we said them not with just hope, but with a reassurance. Along with hope, there is also faith, love and bringing all the family together."

Loose Women's Penny was recently spotted soaking up some sun at Bondi Beach in Sydney, whilst accompanying her husband on tour.

The singer has been on tour with "special guests" Cyndi Lauper, 69, and Jon Stevens, 61.

Sir Rod has embarked on a short tour of New Zealand, accompanied by Cyndi and Jon.

He is scheduled to subsequently visit Mexico, the US and Ireland for performances in the coming months and a UK tour later this year in June.
