Halle Berry wasn't prepared to take criticism of her latest upload without firing some savage shots back in the troll's direction.

The actress, 56, turned heads at the weekend when she uploaded a racy snap of her wearing only her birthday suit.

Showing off her flawless physique, the X-Men star sent most of her fans wild as she posed completely naked on her balcony while sipping a glass of wine.

She managed to stand strategically so that her private parts were covered by metal railings in the snap as she captioned it: "Happy Saturday," alongside a red lip kiss emoji.

Her brown locks framed her face in soft waves and she looked to have ditched make-up as well as her clothes as fans rushed to compliment her on the upload.

As she responded to some by saying: "I do what I wanna do," many praised her appearance saying she looked amazing.

However, one not-so-pleasant follower took it upon themselves to share the post alongside the words: "Imagine being in you 50s, still posting nudes for attention in menopause when you should be chilling with the grandkids."

They concluded by saying "dignity is no longer a thing".

However, Halle took offence to the comment and hilariously shot them down, responding: "Did you guys know the heart of a shrimp is located in its head?"

The fiery remark left her fans in stitches with one user on Twitter replying: "Ms. Berry I see you're on 10 today...and I APPROVE."

Halle shared a sassy gif to the user, much to the appreciation of her followers.

Another user commented: "Imagine getting mad because a beautiful woman is proud of her body. Couldn’t be me."

And a third simply knocked back the troll's comments themselves by writing: "This dude is NUTTS!!!.... @halleberry is a work of art!!"

Halle has been proudly showing off her toned physique following training sessions with her personal trainer Peter Thomas.

While the pair have been working together for years, the star recently took the time to heap the praise the fitness guru.

"Peter respun the fun to a backyard agility workout! What I love about this is anyone can do it," she wrote in a recent caption.

"So let’s go y’all…all you need is a ball, some cones or small objects, and an ab wheel— and of course a backyard, park, or hallway!"
