If you've recently been through a heartbreak, you'll likely be acutely aware that it's almost Valentine's Day - and you might want to go that extra mile to forget all about your ex-partner.

RSPCA's Ashford Garden Cattery in Ashford, Kent, is offering people the chance to have their ex's name inscribed on a cat litter tray to ensure they get 'pooped on forever' by a puss.

The hilarious opportunity is ultimately a fundraiser for the RSPCA, whilst helping people get their own back on their ex to mark the most romantic day of the year. Animal care assistant Rachel Sinden was on the lookout for quirky ways to raise funds for the furry residents at the centre.

She decided to publicise the tongue-in-cheek stunt, where, for a £5 donation, people can have their ex's name written on the bottom of a litter tray.

In the hilarious advert, it states that staff will 'happily pop the name on one of [their] more sensitive stomached kitties' for those willing to stump up a bigger cash donation.

People who are interested need to email the name of their previous partner to the centre, along with a screenshot of the donation - and soon a kitty will be pooping all over their name.

RSPCA worker Rachel believes that the light-hearted fundraiser is the 'purr-fect' way to help felines in need, while exacting revenge on an ex at the same time.

Rachel said: "A zoo did the same thing with roaches that you feed to bearded dragons, and you can name your ex after one of them.

"I thought it was hilarious, and I was like, 'what can we do here?' I thought, 'we've got a lot of cat poo, so we can do something with the litter trays'.

"We'll stick the name on the bottom of the litter trays, then they go in the cat pods, and be pooped on forever. This seems like a good way to help out some cats in need and get revenge on your ex at the same time. It's the perfect combination.

"I'm hoping it's just a light-hearted way to get money in. We try everything we can to get money in as much as we can, because we completely rely on donations.

"We really work hard fundraising. It's something funny, silly, and makes people smile at this time of year - and we might get a bit of money in for the cats."

RSPCA Ashford Garden Cattery rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes up to 300 cats per year, and also provides support for families who are struggling to afford their pets.

Their fundraiser was posted yesterday (February 9) and has already garnered a lot of interest.
