Police storm theatre as 'disgusting' audience 'tried to sing over the cast'
Police were called in to remove audience members singing loudly during a performance of The Bodyguard which was forced to finish 10 minutes early.
The unusual incident took place on Friday's performance of the hit musical at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
Police halted the show as disobedient members of the audience members were escorted from the venue.
Theatre-goers had been asked by the production to not sing during the performance, with signs installed around the auditorium, after reports of previous audiences on the tour trying to "outsing" the actors and "chatting" during the show.
A handful of people were reportedly evicted during the first act of the show after struggling to refrain themselves from singing, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Video footage showed at least two women being escorted out of the upper circle of the theatre by police. The audience can be heard clapping as they are removed.
At least half a dozen police officers were in attendance with a number of police vehicles parked outside the venue.
One person wrote on Twitter: "Cannot believe what I’ve just witnessed at the palace theatre watching the Bodyguard.
"A mini riot after the show was stopped because audience members were trying to sing over the cast. Police riot vans been called in. Chaos."
Former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, who played the lead in the show, took to her Instagram Stories to issue a message to her 136,000 followers after the incident.

"I respect that you paid your money and I am so grateful to everyone who respects the people on stage, who want to give you a beautiful show.
"For everything that happened tonight, I don't have all of the details, I'm just very, very sorry that we couldn't finish the show.
"I fought really hard. It feels... awful, and I just hope that we will see you again. The Bodyguard is a great show, it's a beautiful story, love story, and I know people were out to see a really beautiful show.

"I thank everyone who were respectful of the performers and very, very sorry for those who weren't. I hope that we will see you soon."
Ayden Callaghan, who plays bodyguard Frank Farmer in the musical, took to Twitter following the cancellation of the show.
The former Hollyoaks actor tweeted: "Theatre pulled the show at the end tonight because of disgusting behaviour. We wanted to carry on but it had become a major incident. I’m really sorry to what was 99.9% a brilliant audience that a few badly behaved individuals ruined it."
