Paul Cattermole was 'in his element' performing with rock band after S Club exit
Paul Cattermole may be best known for having been a member of pop group S Club 7, but he had also performed as part of rock band Skua over the course of his career too.
The late singer - who it has been announced died earlier this week - rose to fame more than two decades ago when S Club made their debut on BBC show Miami 7 in 1999.
He was part of the group - which had formed the year prior - with bandmates Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt and Rachel Stevens.
They enjoyed success with singles such as Bring It All Back, Reach, Never Had a Dream Come True and Don't Stop Movin'. And they were the recipients of two Brit Awards.
It was however announced in early 2002 that Paul had decided to leave the group - who had released three albums by that point - to pursue other opportunities.

Hogan/Getty Images For X)It has been reported that "creative differences" were initially cited as the cause of his departure and, according to BBC News, he told the Sun: "I want a change musically".
And around the time of his departure from the group, Paul is understood to have reunited with some old friends - whom he's said to have previously been in a band with.
They reformed as rock band Skua. It's understood to have included Paul as the lead vocalist, alongside the likes of drummer Matt Alan and guitarist Steve Kelly.
The band - who are understood to have been childhood friends from St Albans in Hertfordshire - didn't end up signing to a record label though they performed at gigs.
He however had also been part of rock band Skua (FACEBOOK)Skua disbanded the following year and it wasn't until 2008 that Paul made his public return to music, reuniting with former bandmates Jo and Bradley to form S Club 3.
He however wasn't finished with Skua as the band reformed in 2014. They subsequently released their first single Falling before releasing their debut album Kneel later that year.
Around the same time, Paul also reunited with his S Club bandmates. They performed on BBC Children in Need in 2014 and embarked on a tour the following year.
Tina once revealed that she had actually seen him perform as part of Skua and said he seemed to be "in his element". It's unclear if she saw the band in 2014 or years earlier.

Paul seemed to take a break from the music industry after reuniting with both Skua and S Club around a decade ago.

More recently though, it was announced just two months ago that S Club were getting back together to embark on a reunion tour later this year to mark their 25th anniversary.
It was sadly announced today (April 7) that Paul has died, with his bandmates having said in a statement that they are "truly devastated" and that he will be "so deeply missed".
