Oleksandr Zinchenko believes Jorginho is a "winner" and will help Arsenal "a lot" between now and the end of the season.

The Gunners signed Jorginho, 31, from Chelsea on deadline day after fellow midfielder Mohamed Elneny suffered a knee injury. He has played more than 500 club games and won plenty of honours during his career, including the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award.

Arsenal are attempting to win a first Premier League title in 19 years this season. Mikel Arteta's side are top of the table, five points ahead of Manchester City in second with a game in hand. Yet they suffered a worrying 1-0 defeat at Everton last time out.

Jorginho made his Arsenal debut against the Toffees at Goodison Park, which raised doubts over whether he is the right man for the job. Yet Zinchenko, 26, claimed the Italy international can help the Gunners get over the line during an interview with VBET.

"He is an amazing player, big personality," said Zinchenko. "Huge experience as well. He is a winner, he knows how to win. And for sure he’s going to help us a lot."

There is no denying Jorginho is a winner. The former Napoli star has won seven trophies during his career - including the Champions League, Europa League and Euro 2020. He has won 46 senior caps for his country and was a regular through his time at Chelsea.

Although Zinchenko is glad Jorginho is an Arsenal player, he is not getting carried away. The Ukraine international has insisted he will not make any promises due to the competitiveness of the Premier League and the fact Arsenal have 18 fixtures remaining.

The Gunners still have games against Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle to come before the end of the season. More importantly, they must play Man City twice - with the first of those fixtures at the Emirates pencilled in for Wednesday night.

As such, Zinchenko's mindset is understandable. He added: "Honestly I’m not going to give any promises because there is still a long way to go.

"There is a lot of talk about our title race but the Premier League is the toughest league in the World and you saw, Everton is in the relegation zone but they beat us. Anything can happen in the league and we just need to go step by step."

Zinchenko has also highlighted the similarities between Arteta and Pep Guardiola. Arteta worked under Guardiola during his time at Man City and many critics believe they are similar managers. Zinchenko believes the main similarity is their desire to win.

He continued: "I have known Mikel since City... obviously, everyone is a bit different, and still, there is some difference between them as well. But the similarity is that both of them want to win every single game, and that’s the most important thing."
