Stormy Daniels has said she has "nothing to hide" and will testify if called to give evidence against former president Donald Trump.

The porn star, 44, is set to be grilled by talk show host Piers Morgan as she speaks out for the first time since Trump made an appearance in court on Tuesday.

The former US president was in court to face arraignment for 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In a teaser clip for her interview with Piers, the adult actress was asked how she would feel about potentially testifying in court "in a trial that will be watched around the world.

Daniels said she is "looking forward to it" as she is "the only one that has been telling the truth".

"I mean any time you're up in the public eye it's scary. I mean, I used to get scared giving an oral book report in school, so it's daunting, but I look forward to it," she said.

Daniels continued: "I have nothing to hide. I'm the only one that has been telling the truth. And, you know, you can't shame me even more.

"So I feel like if they don't, it paints the picture that they know something about me that makes me you know, untrustworthy, or not reliable.

"I think having them call me in and put me on the stand legitimises my story and who I am."

Elsewhere in the interview, Daniels admitted that she doesn't think Trump's crimes against her should land him in prison.

"Specific to my case, I don't think that his crimes against me are worthy of incarceration," she said.

However, she said he should "absolutely" face jail time if found guilty of the other allegations against him.

If not, she said it "opens the door for other people to think they can get away with doing that and worse."
