McMahon suffers injury in Wrestlemania botch as Snoop Dogg tries to save match
Shane McMahon made a shock return to the WWE over the weekend after over a year away, but the Wrestlemania comeback ended badly for the 39-year-old.
McMahon had not featured in the ring for some time, after having his Eliminator Chamber match in February 2022 cancelled. The son of WWE chairman Vince McMahon left fans gobsmacked in the early hours of Sunday morning though, after returning to take on The Miz in the promotion's flagship event at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Sadly for McMahon his comeback was cut short, after the 39-year-old appeared to land awkwardly on his left knee during the match.
The American was left clutching his leg on the canvas, as the referee hurried over to check on the injury. It was later confirmed by wrestling stalwart and WWE chief content officer Triple H that McMahon had torn his quadricep.
In a press conference, Triple H said: "Unfortunately, Shane, tore his quad early in the match — not that it was going to be a long match, probably — but he went down with a torn quad."

Despite the injury issue, the fight was seemingly saved by none other than legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. With McMahon left on the canvas, the rapper and actor burst into the ring to take the match into his own hands.
He landed a right-hand on The Miz, before adding another to send the the Ohio-born star to the ground. He then capped off his entrance in style, finishing off with his own take on the The Rock's People's Elbow, to secure his first official WWE win.

It seemed the rapper was a shocked as anyone to secure his night two victory, after revealing post-match: "I didn't even know I was going to be in that match until the match actually took place. But that is what I love most about Wrestlemania.
'It is always unpredictable, there is always something to keep you on the edge of your seat, and tonight I was able to be a part of it from the inside and not just the outside. It was a great feeling to be a part of it and do what I did. This is my city baby, this is my Wrestlemania. You know what I am saying? This is Hollywood."
