Police have issued a picture of a man officers want to trace, in connection with a road crash in which a pregnant woman tragically lost her unborn baby.

West Midlands Police force have issued images of the man, who officers believe may have been the driver of a BMW that collided with a Toyota in Solihull, last year.

Police said the woman and her family agreed to release the tragic news to show the impact the collision had on their lives. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

In a statement, police said: "We are appealing for information following a collision in Solihull which resulted in a pregnant woman losing her baby. The collision happened between a BMW and a Toyota on Cooks Lane in Solihull last year.

"We’ve issued an image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the collision who we believe may have been the driver of the BMW.

"The woman and her family have agreed to release this private and sensitive information to show the impact the collision has had on their lives."

Det Con Rachael Johnson, from Force CID, said: “This has had a lasting impact on the family who were left devastated that day at the loss of their unborn baby. We have carried out CCTV enquiries and spoken to witnesses and our investigation continues.

“I would appeal directly to the suspect to do the right thing and get in touch with us.
