Britain and Peru's favourite bear is poised to set up a permanent home in London.

The Paddington Bear Experience will be a huge interactive event that is coming to County Hall on the South Bank, in London.

Unfolding across 26,000 square ft, you'll get to embark on a mission to help Paddington and The Brown family prepare for a very special day.

The production is designed by Immersive Octopus, the creative collective behind Peaky Blinders: The Rise, which runs in London until May.

Unlike the violent Peaky Blinders affair, the Paddington Bear Experience will be multi-sensory, have an interactive mix of games, plenty of live performance and video content suitable for all ages.

The people behind the event have been very secretive about the experience, beyond saying the Browns and Paddington will all feature, and that it will open "in 2023".

This year marks 65 years since a kind bear from Peru with a big appetite for marmalade was first introduced to the world by author Michael Bond.

The first book, A Bear Called Paddington, acquaints readers to the friendly and polite bear who is discovered by the Brown family at Paddington Station in London.

The series of stories that followed chronicle Paddington's adventures in London and around the world.

Since its first publication, the Paddington books have sold more than thirty-five million copies worldwide.

In 2014, the live-action feature film Paddington was released, which was followed by a sequel, and a third is now in the works.

As everyone who was in the country during the platinum jubilee will remember, Paddington won an even warmer place in the nation's heart when he appeared alongside the Queen in a special skit.

The friendly CGI mammal offered Her Majesty a bite of his marmalade sandwich, only for the late monarch to reveal that she always carries one of her own.

When the Queen died in September last year thousands of drawings of Paddington alongside the iconic snack were left outside her various residencies.
