Emmerdale's Kevin Mathurin reveals surprise connection to music icon Diana Ross
An Emmerdale star stunned viewers after he revealed his secret connection to iconic superstar Diana Ross.
Kevin Mathurin, who plays vicar Charles Anderson on the hit ITV soap, left Lorraine Kelly gobsmacked with his revelation on her Wednesday show.
The actor, 63, revealed he had worked for the music legend as a dancer.
“When I left college in 1991, my journey started more on the dance career, so I kept going down that route,” Kevin said.
“And what an amazing time you had,” Lorraine quipped. “Madison Square Garden with Diana Ross I believe."

“Wow that’s something that must have been a total highlight,” Lorraine said, with Kevin replying: “Definitely.”
“We had a moment where, she likes to swap the running order of the show, so we would come on thinking we were doing a dance routine, and one time she decided ‘Ok I got a friend here in the audience.'
"And this friend starts walking up on stage and all of a sudden it’s Luther Vandross.”
“Wow,” Lorraine gasped.
Kevin went on: “And they sing a duet of endless love and I’m sitting there like, I can’t believe this is happening.”
Kevin first starred in Emmerdale in 2020 and has become a fan favourite.
The character joined the soap when he stepped in to perform the wedding ceremony of Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk on Christmas Day 2020.
The soap star has also had appearances in Doctors and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Kevin has taken on theatre roles in the past having played Bill in The Visit at The National Theatre, James in Michael Morpurgo's The Butterfly Lion at Chichester Festival Theatre, Crooks in Of Mice and Men’s UK tour and Bogs Diamond in The Shawshank Redemption UK tour.

It was in 2012 when their romance really blossomed when they were reintroduced at a Christmas party by For Life actor, Nicholas Pinnock.
They share son Harvey and live together in their family home in Lewisham, London.
