This Morning was praised by ITV viewers on Monday as GP and TV doctor Dr Sara Kayat performed a breast examination live on air on a brave breast cancer survivor.

The model joined the Holly Willoughby, Alison Hammond and This Morning's Kelly Hoppen after she discussed her own cancer diagnosis and admitted she is still "afraid to check" her own breasts despite beating the disease.

After asking the model to remove her gown, Sara explained: "Part of the examination for breast is looking and feeling so we'll start with looking. You look in the mirror, straight on, you're looking for any changes in shape, size, outline, any asymmetry.

"You're also looking at the skin, making sure there's no puckering or dippling on the skin, there's no rashes, eczema, scaling, crusting and then you're looking at the nipples for any inversion or whether the nipples are pointing in any other direction, if there's any discharge."

She continued: "And if you have got larger breasts it's important to lift up the breasts as well and look underneath the breasts."

This Morning's Alison praised Sara for performing the check on a model with larger breasts as the doctor remarked: "It's so important because often you seen small breasts and it's easier with smaller breasts but it's important that everyone is included."

This Morning viewers took to Twitter to praise the segment and brave model as one viewer noted: "#ThisMorning. Just wanted to say how brave and amazing the lady is to be live on TV to allow the Dr to show us how to check our breast."
