Incredible moment Strictly's Shirley Ballas spun around by her ankles in dance
Strictly star Shirley Ballas is spun around by her ANKLES by Anton Du Beke in an incredible dance - at the age of 62.
The star rolled back the years with the hair-raising - and impromptu - move, last night at the SSE Arena in Belfast on the Strictly Come Dancing tour.
The manoeuvre - which delighted the crowd - happened at the end of the show.
It has not been performed so far on the tour.
Host Janette Manrara asked Shirley if there were any couples she would like to dance with.
Strictly's Molly Rainford and Tyler West fuel romance rumours while on tourShe replied that she wanted to be “swung round by the ankles by Anton” to which Craig Revel Horwood replied that there was “no time like the present”.
Their first attempt failed with Shirley lying flat on the floor on her stomach.
“What did you have for lunch, I told you not to have the stew,” Anton says. “ I thought my days were up with Ann Widdecombe ”
The second attempt was a failure too, with Craig calling it a “complete dance disaster.”
But the third attempt was a success as Shirley was spun around at great speed.
The UK Arena tour kicked off at the end of January in Birmingham before touring the country.
Will Mellor, Ellie Simmonds and Tyler West are among the stars taking part, with Shirley, Craig and Anton as judges.
The live shows have waltzed around the country at venues including Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena, Leeds' First Direct Arena, the AO Arena in Manchester, and Sheffield and Newcastle's Utilita Arena, as well as London's O2 Arena before culminating at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on February 12.
Craig is directing the 2023 tour, which also features professional dancers from the current series of the BBC One show, together with the Strictly Live Band.
Organisers said the tour was a "great way" to celebrate the 20th series of the programme, with fans being able to experience "everything they love about the TV show live on stage".
