Meghan Markle will supply one of her recipes to a new charity cookbook aimed to raise money for victims of natural disasters.

The World Central Kitchen Cookbook has been created by Spanish chef Jose Andres, who also started the not-for-profit organisation, World Central Kitchen (WCK).

WCK provides meals to those in need following natural disasters, with Andres founding the charity in 2010 after the Haiti earthquake.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, is set to contribute a lemon olive oil cake recipe to the book.

The news was confirmed in a post on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell website, which read: “This weekend, longtime friend and partner of The Archewell Foundation, Chef Jose Andres announced the upcoming release of ‘The World Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope.’

“All author proceeds will support WCK’s emergency response efforts, and Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex is proud to have contributed a recipe.

“In March 2021, The Duchess sent a Lemon Olive Oil cake, which is included in the book, to a group of female restaurateurs who partnered with WCK to provide meals to their community during the pandemic.”

It comes as Meghan plans to revive her lifestyle blog, The Tig, which is thought to rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s £200million Goop.

Meghan has received official preliminary approval to revive the website, after she closed it in 2017 upon getting engaged to Prince Harry.

The Tig, which Meghan named after her favourite red wine, was first started in 2014 when the actress starred in Suits.

The new version of the blog is thought to offer tips on food, travel, fashion, the arts, design, conscious living and wellness.
