Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao could be pitted against each other in a tag-team boxing match with YouTubers KSI and Salt Papi.

Boxing legends Mayweather and Pacquiao shared one of the most iconic rivalries in boxing which ultimately saw 'Money' defeat the Filipino in the highest-selling pay-per-view event ever in 2015. Since the glory days of their careers, both Mayweather and Pacquiao have been fighting in boxing exhibitions, in particular the American who has shared the ring with the likes of YouTubers Logan Paul and Deji.

The rivals then came together in a chance meeting last year where they discussed a rematch, but Mayweather suggested he has no intentions of returning in a professional clash with Pacquiao. However a report last night emerged that Mayweather and Pacquiao could incredibly return to the ring in opposite corners on an appearance on influencer KSI's Misfits Boxing label.

Mayweather is currently in talks to feature on a team with YouTube star KSI, while Pacquiao would be on the opposite side alongside TikTok star Salt Papi. KSI's manager Mams Taylor confirmed the talks, tweeting: "Been working on it."

The tag-team boxing concept was introduced by KSI's label on the back of its success in wrestling including in the WWE. The first match took place on the last Misfits Boxing care and featured KSI's former opponent Luis Pineda alongside BDave, with the pair prevailing over Ice Poseidon and Anthony Vargas.

Mayweather recently announced he will return to the ring anyway in a series of exhibitions following his recent UK outing against Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers. Meanwhile Pacquiao is currently exploring a return to the ring in a professional capacity when he could meet Conor Benn in a Middle East boxing clash in summer this year.

Despite rumours being fuelled that the pair could meet themselves again, Mayweather previously i nsisted that the chapter of his career with Pacquiao was at an end and they had finished their time in the ring. "We had a chance to do it when it really counted, for all the marbles," Mayweather said. "I was able to go out there and generate crazy numbers.

"We had a chance to do it and you know what the result was. I’ll tell Manny Pacquiao to be the best you can be at whatever you’re doing. These exhibitions keep me motivated to say in shape. I go to the boxing gym regularly and help young fighters, give them pointers.

"I help put them in the position to be the next Floyd Mayweather, the next Manny Pacquiao. I’m looking for up and coming talent and pushing them to be great. If I was taking brutal punishment I couldn’t do it anymore. My career was great because of my defence. My faculties were important to me. I retired from the sport and I didn’t let the sport retire me."
