Man sues Buffalo Wild Wings claiming its boneless wings are no more than nuggets

An angry man has launched a lawsuit against chicken wing chain Buffalo Wild Wings saying the 'boneless chicken wings' are actually just glorified chicken nuggets.

Aimen Halim, from Chicago, US, filed a class-action lawsuit saying the chain is overcharging for its boneless wings.

According to court documents, the lawsuit claims the "boneless wings" sold by Buffalo Wild Wings are not actually part of a chicken wing but instead "slices of chicken breast meat deep-fried like wings".

The document states: "This clear-cut case of false advertising should not be permitted, as consumers should be able to rely on the plain meaning of a product’s name and receive what they are promised."

The lawsuit also names Buffalo Wild Wings umbrella company Inspire Brands.

In the suit, Halim argues that if customers really knew what the boneless wings were made out of, they would pay less for them.

"Indeed, the Products are more akin, in composition, to a chicken nugget rather than a chicken wing," the document says.

The lawsuit noted how other fast-food companies such as Domino's Pizza and Papa Johns do it.

"It should be noted that Domino's Pizza and Papa Johns also sell actual chicken wings, and that a restaurant named Buffalo Wild 'Wings' should be just as careful if not more in how it names its products," the lawsuit says.

He claimed people would pay less for Buffalo Wild Wings if they knew what was actually in them.

He added that he bought the boneless wings in January and regretted his decision once he learned what they're made of.

The lawsuit states: "As a result, Mr Halim suffered a financial injury as a result of Defendants’ false and deceptive conduct."

Halim is suing for false and deceptive business practices.

This isn't the first class-action lawsuit Halim has launched, having previously taken on a brand of mouthwash, granola bars and recycling bags.

One lawsuit claims that describing Tom's Wicked Fresh Mouthwash as "natural" was inaccurate. Another claims the "high in fibre" label on Kind granola is also wrong.
