Interior design icon Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl are in despair - because people keep mixing them up.

The 58-year-old Changing Rooms star and 54-year-old Times Like These singer Dave may come from very different professional worlds - but it seems the look too alike for many to distinguish between.

With long flowing locks of dark hair and well manicured bears, the pair could easily be mistaken for brothers - or, it would seem, each other.

However, there are fears that some people wanting home decoration tips might get the wrong advice and others may be left with disappointment if the other is asked to sing a Foo Fighters tune.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Laurence revealed all about the unexpected mix ups he has encountered due to his resemblance for the US star.

He said: “It really is weird because we do look very similar and we tend to do the same beard/hair thing. Even our childhood photos look similar.

“Poor Dave gets really confused because loads of people have been coming up to him and asking him about wallpaper and he’s like, ‘Look guys, I’m just a drummer, I don’t know about wallpaper’.

“Meanwhile, I constantly get asked about Foo Fighters.”

Recently, some music fans were left doing a double take when Dave was spotted putting in an impressive 16 hour shift cooking up BBQ food for charity.

The star appeared at The Hope Mission in Los Angeles, California, last month to help cater for the homeless.

In pictures published by TMZ at the time , the father-of-three could be seen working just as hard as the other volunteers to ensure that the food was truly prepared with heart and soul.

The publication reported that Dave expensed the food and cookers on-site, and even rested on site whilst waiting for the meat to be smoked.

Then, at serving time, the My Hero hitmaker spoke with fellow Hope Mission members of staff, as well as guests living in the shelter.

The outlet revealed that Dave and the rest of the staff’s efforts helped to fill the stomachs of around 450 of the less fortunate, and 50 members of staff.

North American fans of Dave and his band will be able to see the star in his more natural habitat - the stage - this year as Foo Fighters are embarking on a tour which will see them take in dates from May until Septermber.
