A female gang on a Christmas do beat up a woman outside a bar after one lost a nail in an earlier toilet fight

The woman, aged in her 20s, was punched and pulled by her hair to the ground before the five-strong gang ran away from the Hideout Tiki Bar in Warrington.

The court heard the beating outside a tropical-themed bar only came to an end when her police officer boyfriend, who had come to pick her up, intervened.

Magistrates were told she suffered bruising when her head hit the ground, scuffs to her knees and scratches to her face. Her mobile phone was also smashed during the violence, reports the Manchester Evening News.

At Warrington magistrates' court, registered carer Jessica Harrison, 19, from Widnes, who admitted assault, was ordered to pay the woman £200 in compensation and sentenced to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.

Saoirse Daly, also 19, also from Widnes, was sentenced at an earlier hearing to 60 hours of unpaid work and was ordered to pay the victim £100 in compensation. She, too, admitted assault.

Police are still hunting three other women over the assault at the Hideout Tiki Bar in Warrington on December 4 last year. Inquiries by officers revealed the attackers had been out on an early Christmas knees-up, the court heard.

Angela Blackmore, prosecuting, said the victim encountered Harrison and Daly whilst out drinking cocktails with friends. She said: "At around midnight, she went to the toilet and was about to go into the cubicle when she realised someone else was in there. The female who was in the cubicle said, 'What the f*** do you think you are doing?'

"The victim apologised and told her that she had not realised that someone was in the toilet. A blonde woman then said 'what the f*** are you looking at?' and all of a sudden that female and another female with brown hair became involved in an assault in the toilet where her hair was pulled and she was punched to the face.

"She did not realise exactly what was happening. She was taken to the floor. Another person became involved by entering the toilet, and they stopped the assault and the victim left the toilet.

"She messaged her boyfriend who was picking her up." The court heard her boyfriend texted her to 'warn her that a group of females was standing outside near to where she was'.

"They seemed to be arguing with the bouncer," Ms Blackmore said. "She saw the females from the toilet and three others. She heard someone say 'there she is, go and get her'. The five women ran towards her and punched her and pulled at her hair, taking her to the floor."

The court heard her boyfriend ran out of his car and identified himself as a police officer before he pushed them away. Both women have previous convictions for assault, the court heard.

A probation service report on Harrison read: ''The incident itself was just before Christmas, a Christmas party for some friends that she used to work with and one of her good friends, the co-defendant. It was also her birthday a few days after this particular night.

"Clearly emotions on the night got to her and she did not control herself in the manner that you would expect. She does have a propensity to probably drink too much when she does go out and has not been out since this incident. She said she has always had an issue with anger management and has never really addressed it.''

At an earlier hearing Daly's lawyer Simon Dunn said: "She accepts that there had been an incident earlier in the toilet. There had been an argument, hair pulling going on and pushing which ultimately resulted in the other matter.

“In the earlier incident, Ms Daly had one of her fingernails pulled from the nail bed. It caused her some difficulties. In the following incident, she was unaware of the three other females around her. It was only after the situation that led to the female being on the floor that the other three arrived."
