Detectives have launched an investigation after a boy was sexually assaulted at a Tube station in London.

The 10-year-old was walking up a set of stairs at Leicester Square station with his mum when the man assaulted him, British Transport Police said.

The boy's mum chased the perpetrator through the station but failed to catch him.

The force, which covers Britain's rail lines and stations, has now issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

The still was released on Friday as investigators probe the alarming incident, which happened at around 4.30pm on Thursday, February 16.
